About Me
When I was 4 years old, my parents recognized my talent
for drawing, and bought me a box with watercolor paints.
At age 10 I got oil paints.
One of my very first oil paintings
was a copy of an Rembrandt portrait painting.
When I was 15, my Art Teacher in school went with me and my class
to our museum here in Berlin, named "Gemäldegalerie Dahlem"
at that time (now "Gemäldegalerie Berlin").
And for the first time in my life I saw all those original
paintings from Rubens, Rembrandt, Titian, Vermeer etc.
This was for me so amazing and fascinating, that I went
in the following 20 years every weekend to that museum
to study the painting techniques of all the great masters
in front of the original pieces
and when I came home after those visits
I practised to paint what I have seen just before.
And additional I researched all sientific results
about the painting techniques of the Old Masters,
and did my own research by practise.
Now I have experience of more than 50 years
in producing Handpainted Copies of Old Master Pieces
and painting Traditional Portraits in style and technique
like the Old Masters
